【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthreeclassesofgrayironsuitableforcastingsexposedtotemperaturesencounteredinsuchserviceasgratebars,stokerlinks,stokerparts,oilstillfurnaceparts,fireboxparts,ingotmolds,glassmolds,causticpots,andmetalmeltingpots.Note18212;Thisspecificationisgeneral,coveringcastironsnormallyusedfortheabovetypesofservice,attemperaturesashighas1400oF(760oC).Itisnotintendedtoimplythatallthreeclassesaresuitablethroughoutthisentiretemperaturerangewithoutregardtoactualservicestresses.Somearesuitableforlongserviceatthelowertemperaturesonly,unlesslowstressesareinvolved.1.2Thethreeclassesofgrayironcoveredbythisspecificationareasfollows:1.2.1ClassI,possessingsuperiorresistancetothermalshock,1.2.2ClassII,possessingaverageresistancetothermalshockandamoderatelygoodtensilestrength(tensilestrengthsabove30000psi(207MPa)maybeexpected),and1.2.3ClassIII,possessingahighertensilestrengththaneitherClassesIorII(tensilestrengthsashighas40000psi(276MPa)maybeexpected).1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.
