【摘要】:1.1Thisguideisintendedprimarilyfortutorialpurposes.Itprovidesanoverviewofthegeneralprinciplesgoverningtheoperationanduseofelectromagneticacoustictransducers(EMATs)forultrasonicexamination.1.2Thisguidedescribesanon-contacttechniqueforcouplingultrasonicenergyintoanelectricallyconductiveorferromagneticmaterial,orboth,throughtheuseofelectromagneticfields.Thisguidedescribesthetheoryofoperationandbasicdesignconsiderationsaswellastheadvantagesandlimitationsofthetechnique.1.3ThisguideisintendedtoserveasageneralreferencetoassistindeterminingtheusefulnessofEMATsforagivenapplicationaswellasprovidefundamentalinformationregardingtheirdesignandoperation.Thisguideprovidesguidanceforthegenerationoflongitudinal,shear,Rayleigh,andLambwavemodesusingEMATs.1.4ThisguidedoesnotcontaindetailedproceduresfortheuseofEMATsinanyspecificapplications;nordoesitpromotetheuseofEMATswithoutthoroughtestingpriortotheiruseforexaminationpurposes.SomeapplicationsinwhichEMATshavebeenappliedsuccessfullyareoutlinedinSection9.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
