【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesthetechniquesforplanning,conducting,analyzing,andtreatingtheresultsofaninterlaboratorystudy(ILS)ofatestmethod.Thestatisticaltechniquesdescribedinthispracticeprovideadequateinformationforformulatingtheprecisionstatementofatestmethod.AcomputersoftwarepackageforperformingthecalculationsandproducingthetablesandgraphsassociatedwithPracticeE691.ThissoftwarecanberunonPCcompatiblecomputers,andhardcopytablesandgraphscanbeprintedondot-matrixprinters.Thispracticedoesnotconcernitselfwiththedevelopmentoftestmethodsbutratherwithgatheringtheinformationneededforatestmethodprecisionstatementafterthedevelopmentstagehasbeensuccessfullycompleted.Thedataobtainedintheinterlaboratorystudymayindicate,however,thatfurthereffortisneededtoimprovethetestmethod.Sincetheprimarypurposeofthispracticeisthedevelopmentoftheinformationneededforaprecisionstatement,theexperimentaldesigninthispracticemaynotbeoptimumforevaluatingmaterials,apparatus,orindividuallaboratories.FieldofApplication-Thispracticeisconcernedexclusivelywithtestmethodswhichyieldasinglenumericalfigureasthetestresult,althoughthesinglefiguremaybetheoutcomeofacalculationfromasetofmeasurements.Thispracticedoesnotcovermethodsinwhichthemeasurementisacategorization,suchasago-no-goallocation(twocategories)orasortingschemeintotwoormorecategories.Forpracticalpurposes,thediscontinuousnatureofmeasurementsofthesetypesmaybeignoredwhenatestresultisdefinedasanaverageofseveralindividualmeasurements.Then,thispracticemaybeapplicable,butcautionisrequiredandastatisticianshouldbeconsulted.Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
